The PL-G Pipe & Cable Locator from SubSurface Instruments is a user-friendly, multi-frequency pipe locator that can locate pipes and cables up to 5 meters deep. It has Bluetooth capability, vibration alert, and more new features that make the pipe and cable location faster and more efficient. With 4 detecting modes, it provides flexibility to detect pipes and cables in any situation despite congestions, interferences, and obstacles. Its reliability, affordability, and convenience make it a great choice for large to small construction and excavation projects in almost any location.
The PL-G transmitter can operate in inductive or direct mode with frequencies ranging from 8kHz to 83kHz. To save time, the direct mode automatically activates when the conductive cables are plugged into and recognized by the transmitter. It can also passively detect radio frequencies, live cables, and CPS. The receiver can detect signals in four modes: Peak Mode for locating the position of the pipeline, Continuous Depth Measurement for determining the change of depth of the pipeline, Bar Mode for locating the pipeline over a longer distance, and Sonde Mode for locating non-metallic pipes.
Weighing only 3.97 pounds, the PL-G receiver is easy to operate for several hours without causing fatigue. Both the transmitter and receiver have backlit LCD screens with intuitive control panels for easy operation in the field. The LCD screen of the receiver shows a compass that helps users maintain a correct path over the pipe or cable. Aside from the audio and visual alerts, the PL-G receiver handle can also vibrate in case of detection. Data can be wirelessly transferred to an Android mobile device via Bluetooth.
