The ChrisNik Pipe-Mic II is a reliable calibration device used to measure pipe inverts, depths, and diameters accurately and efficiently. It is designed to be used with the new double-sided ChrisNik Rod, Crain 25' SVR Series Plumb Rod, and USL rods, which are all sold separately, and have graduations in feet, tenths, and hundredths of a foot. This device comes with a 2' extension arm, and can help surveying professionals to easily achieve exact hard-to-reach pipe measurements in the field.
Heavy-Duty Construction: The Pipe-Mic II is made from a lightweight, non-rusting, water-resistant aircraft aluminum material, and comes with a built in 0.33-foot or 4" diameter wheel on its end, that cuts through mud and other materials on the invert of the pipe, and allows a proper and reliable measurement each time. The grade rod can easily be attached by a simple slide on and off, and firmly be placed on the clamp on the body of the device. The Pipe-Mic II has an extension arm that can be adjusted from zero to 1-foot vertical offset, with the help of pulling the snap pin, if there is a need for a clearance under the rod.
Accurate & Easy-to-Use: To effectively measure a pipe invert and its diameter, simply set the arm of the Pipe-Mic II into any position that allows an easy and reliable access to the pipe. Place the wheel on the floor of the pipe, and the user can already measure the invert level from the grade rod. To achieve the entire inner diameter of the pipe, simply lift the rod straight up until the wheel reaches the top of the pipe. Obtain the measurement from the rod, and add 0.33-foot, which is the size of the wheel, to achieve the exact pipe size.
ChrisNik also offers a 3 Feet Extension Arm (1736ARM - Sold Separately) if there is a need for a longer reach on larger diameter manholes that the included 2' cannot easily access.
