LASER DETECTOR PRODUCTS & BUYER'S GUIDE

When distance or lighting conditions no longer enable you to see your laser beam, Laser Detectors offer the solution for any general construction and outdoor applications. Laser Receivers, also known as laser detectors, detect laser beams emitted by laser levels and signal operators whether the laser beam is below, above, or on grade. They are built construction-tough, designed to work in harsh environments, and provide excellent accuracy. Tiger Supplies is a trusted dealer of Laser Level Detectors from Leica, Topcon, Spectra Precision, AdirPro, and more!

OUR BEST-SELLER

The best-selling Spectra Precision HL760 Laser Receiver pairs with the LL300S Self-Leveling Rotary Laser Level and other red/green beam rotary lasers and works as far as 1500 ft. It has a high precision (±1.0 mm) and a normal precision (± 2.0 mm) mode, with visual alerts displayed on the dual LCD screen. The Spectra HL760 Laser Receiver is water- and dust-resistant, and with light bar technology, the laser detection resultion is nearly inflinite allowing greater accuracy and consistency. It comes with unique functions such as the capture function that can take grade readings remotely in situations when the receiver is out of-reach.

LASER DETECTOR BUYER’S GUIDE

Consider the following features when shopping for a Laser Detector to make sure that you’re getting the right unit for your needs.

Compatible Laser Level

Laser Detectors are compatible with specific types of laser levels. Some Laser Detectors only work with rotary laser levels while some are compatible with rotary laser levels, line laser levels, point laser levels, or infrared rotary laser levels.

Further, some laser detectors like the AdirPro LD-8 are compatible with only red rotary lasers, some only with green rotary lasers, and some are compatible with both green and red rotary laser levels.

Range

The range of a Laser Detector pertains to the maximum distance it can detect a laser beam. If working on small projects, a 50 to 100ft. range can suffice. For large commercial projects, aim for a range of at least 1000ft.

Accuracy Settings

Laser Level Detectors have two general levels of accuracy: coarse and fine. The coarse accuracy is used for applications that don’t need extreme precision such as initial grading. Fine accuracy, on the other hand, is used for final grading or final setting - applications that require absolute accuracy. The more accuracy settings a Laser Level Detector has, the more expensive it is.

Display

Laser detectors usually have LED lights or LCD screens to display information on whether the laser is above, below, or on grade. Some Laser Detectors have dual LCDs so operators can view the readings from both sides.

Mounting Options

Most Laser Detectors have a bracket for mounting the detector on a level or grade rod. This bracket can be tightened to secure the detector in place or freed to slide it up and down the rod. Some Laser Detectors also have built-in magnets to attach them to metal surfaces.
